We have some great news to report, with Campbell’s Cellar Door recently being voted amongst the best ten Cellar Doors in Australia by Wine Business Magazine

With approximately 2000 Cellar Doors operating in Australia it is an incredible honour to be acknowledged amongst the very best, and we think a just result for the great team we have at Cellar Door.

With 130 years of history behind it, the wine company represents one of the founding families of Rutherglen. The company has been working hard on the cellar door experience to ensure the sense of history and regional identity is translated to the consumer. Visitors are free to explore the century old cellars, stand in the heart of the winery surrounded by rows of casks filled with slow maturing muscats and tokays.

The Campbells cellar door team is a bunch of wine enthusiasts who are committed to providing visitors with a memorable cellar door experience. All wine tastings are served in Riedel glassware and are accompanied by complimentary Taste Buds- a selection of cheeses, olives and grissini sticks to cleanse the palate, and chocolates to accompany the fortifieds. Customers are encouraged to take a flight tasting which consists of a selection of wines matched to canapés. This provides customers with the opportunity to taste, compare and contrast wine and food matches.

A very special treat for visitors to cellar door, and something rarely found in Australian wineries, is the opportunity to taste and buy back vintage wines. A chance to secure otherwise unattainable wines at optimum maturity. Each year the Campbell family reserves a portion of selected wines for inclusion in their Vintage Reserve Cellar-wines that will benefit from maturation. These wines are left to age and are tested every two years at a vintage wine evaluation. From there Campbells prepares its Vintage Wine Guide and rates all wines according to their stage of developmen.
