In true Australian style the twelve inaugural members of Australia’s First Families of Wine (AFFW), including Rutherglen’s Campbells Wines, are raising their glasses to kick off Australia Day.
Campbells will be hosting an authentic Australian BBQ on Wednesday 26th January between 11am- 3pm for a gold coin donation. Join us for gourmet Morrison Street lamb sausages, Australian games on the lawns and of course a glass or two of Campbells finest.
In light of the recent floods Campbells have decided to donate all proceeds from the BBQ and $1 from every bottle purchased on the day to the flood relief appeal. We will also be giving away a copy of ‘Heart and Soul’ with any purchase of one dozen bottles or more. Heart and Soul highlights the people, the histories and the vineyards of the twelve members of Australia’s First Families of Wine.
Following the successful launch of AFFW in Australia and the UK the group will revisit the UK in 2011 to continue their efforts to improve the positioning of Australia Wine and also have their sights on Canada in early 2011. Spreading the good word on Australian wine in China later in the year is also on the agenda.
So, whether you are at home with a bottle of our iconic Bobbie Burns Shiraz and a rack of lamb or visiting us here at Cellar Door for a good old Aussie BBQ on Australia Day, let’s pause and raise our glasses to celebrate great Australian wine.
