With the release of our 2011 vintage and our annual Bobbie Burns Dinner, there is much to celebrate over May!
Celebrations will kick off in fine style with the arrival of the 42nd consecutive vintage of our Bobbie Burns Shiraz. The annual Bobbie Burns Dinner will be a night to remember on Saturday 4 May. Guests will enjoy a sumptuous feast served with several vintages of Bobbie Burns Shiraz and other treasures from our family cellar. The haggis is piped in with a traditional whisky toast with An Ode to a Haggis recited. The hotly contested Robert Burns poetry reading competition ensures a very memorable experience indeed!
Below is joint winner, Matt Campbell's poem from the evening - Ode to the 42
Och aye the nu, 42 that's quite a lot of Bobbie - but Col and Mal have proved it true, they're handy with their hobby!
It's quite a drop from this handsome lot, great nose and fruit and palate, there's mulberry, plum and spicy yum you'll love it when you smell it.
The Campbells Clan - I'm quite a fan, they sure know how to party kilts and wine, sure is dine but after that Haggis I'm farty (please excuse me it really is quiet bad back here).
So here again in Rutherglen we stand and raise our glasses. Here's to you and the 42 - Bobbie Burns, God bless you!
Join us at our cellar door over May, so you can experience the 2011 vintage of Bobbie Burns! And if you're on Facebook, take a look at our 'Where's Bobbie' series! We can't wait to see where you've taken 'Bobbie'!
