Malc Campbell

Malcolm Campbell OAM

Joint Owner and Director,
Director of Agriculture & Viticulture

Forming a dream team with his brother winemaker Col, Malc as the viticulturist, has overseen the expansion of the family vineyards in Rutherglen. Over the years he has trialled new varieties and innovative vineyard management systems to provide the best fruit to the winemaking team.

With a lifetime of living and working with the land of Campbells, Malc knows the Rutherglen soils and climate intimately and together with his son, Roger, he oversees the broader agricultural family enterprise of grain and sheep for wool and prime lambs.

Vitally interested in the viticultural needs of the district, he was co-founder of the Rutherglen Vine Grafting facility, which provides vines for the district. He has been co-manager of this committee since its inception. He has also always been actively involved on various industry bodies related to vine health.

Malc and his wife Jenny have been a great team over the years. The diversity and demands of the annual cycle of the growing seasons leave little spare time for them, however they do enjoy a bit of travel and following the grandchildren with their sports and other interests. Of course, they have a strong interest and enjoyment of wines - it's really a prerequisite of the job!

Malc was presented with the Medal of Order of Australia (OAM) for services to the community of Rutherglen as a viticulturist and through involvement with tourism promotion, emergency services and health organisations.
