Campbells in the UK

Our hard-working Sales Manager, Dan Gregory, recently set off to the UK to be involved in Australia Day wine tastings around the country. The trip proved to be a great opportunity to get amongst our fabulous export markets and meet our international buyers face to face. Today, we sat down with Dan to get his thoughts on the trip:

The tastings in London and Edinburgh were well attended. Notably the London show ended with renowned wine writer and Aussie wine fan, Mathew Jukes, tasting our Bobbie Burns Shiraz 2015, Rutherglen Durif 2015 Limited Release, Brothers Shiraz 2013Rutherglen Topaque, Classic Topaque, Rutherglen Muscat and finally our Grand Muscat.”

“One of the highlights of the Edinburgh leg of the Australia Day tasting was offering samples of our Campbells ‘Liquid Gold’ Classic Topaque with a piece of Cashel Blue Cheese. We enjoyed the wine and cheese as the sun gently set behind Edinburgh Castle through the windows of the Balmoral Hotel!”

“Our trade partners in the UK: Awin Barratt and Siegel (ABS) hosted my tour over the two weeks & introduced me to customers in all corners of the UK. This busy schedule included appointments with key independent retailers and wholesalers who service restaurants and wine related businesses. We also conducted a couple of tutored wine tasting events & lunches which provided an opportunity to explain the wonderful history of Campbells Wines and discuss our point of difference!”

“Travelling with our trade partners across the UK enabled plenty of time for in depth discussions about Rutherglen and the five generations of family winemaking tradition at Campbells Wines. We look forward to returning in the coming years to reinforce our message and ensure the spirit remains strong with our wines in the UK and with our colleagues at ABS.”
