Spring. Is. Coming. So it’s time to prepare to step outside into the beautiful warmth of the sun, surround yourself with greenery, blossoming flowers and tall leafy trees. It’s picnic time. But no need to worry, we’ve already done the planning for you.
In Real Estate they proclaim; ‘Location, Location, Location.’ A picnic is no different. Make sure you have a spot in mind. A good mixture of scenery, shade, sun, flora and a flat surface are all essential.
Next, what are you going to sit on? Have you brought cushions? A blanket? A chair? Or if you’re good enough, simply cross your legs. You’ll want to make sure you’re comfortable and can enjoy the experience.
Thirdly, you’re going to need snacks. This is a non-negotiable. There are no hard and fast rules for being in charge of snacks, so feel free to let your creative juices fly. However, as a bare minimum we would suggest cheeses (don’t forget a knife), cured meats, crackers, olives and hummus. You can never go wrong with hummus. Don’t forget to add a bit of colour to your platter with some fruits; strawberries, passionfruit, pear will help give you that pop. A bag of chips and nuts won’t go astray either.
Now our favourite part; the drinks. You’ll need a refreshing beverage or two. Let us recommend our Rosé this fruity bubbly beverage will go down a treat. It is light-bodied and sings on the palate with notes of fresh strawberry fruit and smooth, creamy balance, giving way to a long, crisp, fresh fruit finish. We’d also suggest a Moscato, the perfect companion to a slice of brie. The palate is true to the bouquet with raspberry & Turkish delight characters all prominent. Gentle fresh spritz adds texture to the mid palate, before finishing with balanced sweetness and creaminess. Another picnic go to is our Sparkling White. Add 1 part Sparkling to 1 part Orange Juice to make yourself a beautifully refreshing mimosa. As always, don’t forget a water bottle to ensure you’re staying hydrated when out in the sun.
Some additional extras that you can bring along to keep everyone entertained may be; a deck of cards, a football, a portable speaker (playing the perfect picnic playlist – we’re envisaging some Fleetwood Mac), a frisbee or a board game.
Alright, you’re ready to go – have a wonderful time! As always, it is important to leave no trace from your picnic, so make sure to dispose of any rubbish once you’ve finished.
Tip: Make sure you check the weather before you leave! You don’t want it to rain on your parade.
