Amélie 2020

$19.00 CELLAR CLUB
$17.10

DESCRIPTION

Tasting Notes

Crimson red. Fragrant, inviting and lifted fruit characters of juicy cherries, satsuma plums and freshly picked summer berries.

Wine Making

The fruit was chilled at crushing to provide 3 days cold maceration before inoculation with an aromatic yeast strain. Fermentation proceeded in a stainless steel fermenter for 6 days before pressing. Fermentation was arrested with a small amount of residual sugar and prepared immediately for bottling.

Cellaring

The Amélie 2020 is a lighter wine style and is truly a taste of the vintage just past. Being a lower alcohol style, it’s an easy drinking wine and made to enjoy in its youth. This soft, young, sweet red is best served chilled and is a versatile food wine - the perfect partner to wood fired pizza or spicy Indian fare. Think; fun in the sun on a clear summer’s day!

Technical

The Grapes: Merlot 71%, Tempranillo 17%, Shiraz 9% and Muscat 3% from our Silverburn vineyard.
Date Tasted: August 2020
Alcohol: 10.0%
T.A (g/l): 6.0g/l
pH: 3.45pH

Palate:

This light weight wine sings on the palate with ripe plums, blackberries and a hint of strawberries and cream front & centre. Retaining natural sweetness, this vintage offers balanced fruit with a subtle yet persistent tannin line, allowing the wine to finish with a crispness matched with fresh acid.
