Dark cherry fruit, lifted violets & a long savoury finish.
Deep, dense red. Intense, brooding primary notes of red and black plum fruit integrated with some oak.
Fruit was harvested in April and fermented on skins for 7 days. The wine then spent 18 months in French and American Puncheons prior to bottling.
The Rutherglen Durif 2018 is an intensely rich and concentrated wine. Whilst young it is best to decant or aerate for an hour or so to let the wine breathe. Delicious to enjoy with full flavoured char grilled meats, or cellar for up to 10 years, when an aged rib eye will be more than suitable.
