DESCRIPTION

Tasting Notes

Deep red with crimson hues. Saturated raspberry and blackberry fruit, with hints of ground coffee bean, mocha and nutmeg.

Wine Making

After fermentation for five days using closed fermenters, the wine was aged in new American and French oak barriques for a period of 2 years.

Cellaring

The Brothers Shiraz 2006 has undergone extended maturation in both barrel and bottle for almost four years prior to release. This time has allowed fruit, oak and tannin to soften and integrate, delivering a truly memorable Rutherglen Shiraz .Whilst approachable now, this lavishly weighted wine will reward those with the patience to cellar to 2018 and beyond. Try alongside a tender rib eye steak with green peppercorn sauce.

Palate:

Raspberry and blackberry fruits are followed by dark plum and ironstone on the mid palate. Structure is a feature of all our 2006 reds and the mouth coating fruit tannins continue as a key feature of the palate. The wine has appealing weight and concentration across the palate with vanillin spiced French oak adding length and finesse to the finish.
