The Brothers Shiraz 2009

$74.00 CELLAR CLUB
$66.60

DESCRIPTION

Tasting Notes

Dense aged brick red. Clean, concentrated plum fruit, restrained power and depth.

Wine Making

After fermentation for five days using closed fermenters, the wine was aged in new American and French oak puncheons for a period of 2 years.

Cellaring

Our 2009 The Brothers Shiraz has undergone extended maturation in both barrel and bottle for three years prior to release. This time has allowed fruit, oak and tannin to soften and integrate, to deliver a truly memorable Rutherglen Shiraz. Enjoy now or over the next 1 - 2 years. A classic match to a juicy, rare rib eye steak with green peppercorn sauce.

Technical

The Grapes: Shiraz from our Rutherglen vineyard.
Date Tasted: June 2021
Alcohol: 14.7%
T.A (g/l): 6.8g/l
pH: 3.45pH

Dense aged brick red. Clean, concentrated plum fruit, restrained power and depth.

Palate:

A powerful wine with intensity of full, fresh and lively plum fruit and blackberries. This wine is rich and complete, a meal in the glass. The fruit notes carry through to the tight, fine tannin finish. Earthy Rutherglen ironstone notes appear towards the end.
