Tasting Notes

Rich, deep red. A rich, lifted nose with notes of dark plums, blackcurrant, spice and clean, fresh oak highlights.

The Brothers Shiraz 2019 Tasting Note

Wine Making

Our 2019 The Brothers Shiraz has undergone extended maturation in both barrel and bottle prior to release. This time has allowed the fruit, oak and tannins to fully integrate and deliver a truly memorable Rutherglen Shiraz. After fermentation for ten days using closed fermenters, the wine was aged in French oak puncheons for 2.5 years.

Cellaring

Whilst approachable now, this complex and structured wine will reward those with the patience to cellar to 2030 and beyond. Try alongside a tender rib eye steak with green peppercorn sauce.

Technical

The Grapes: The best Shiraz from our Rutherglen vineyards.
Date Tasted: June 2023
Alcohol: 14.5%
T.A (g/l): 6.9g/l

Palate:

Full bodied, powerful & velvety smooth with concentrated plum and blackcurrant. Carefully selected oak adds a touch of earth and spice with finely, grippy tannins providing balance and length. A powerful wine with the natural building blocks to age and develop in bottle. The Brothers Shiraz 2019 Tasting Note

A fine tribute to Rutherglen legends, the Campbell brothers, Malcolm and the late Colin Campbell. Brings all the qualities we celebrate most in Rutherglen shiraz, from the deep, penetrating purple colour, black-hearted fruits and lively spiciness to the solid tannin presence. The palate is fine, supple and even, a lot like the brothers. Drinking beautifully now. - 93 points
