Back in the 1960s, fourth generation brothers Colin and Malcom Campbell, planted 39 red varieties initially to see which would prosper for port production. We are still growing them today and that is where our fruit for The Sixties Block is harvested.

Our Assistant Winemaker, @chefnickgardner from Sticks Curated, will be serving a delicious gourmet meal option (limited availability) to accompany a glass or two of Campbells wines, whilst enjoying live music and watching the sun set over our Bobbie Burns vineyard. Vineyard platters will also be available.
Nick Gardner joined Campbells Wines in 2024. He is a highly decorated chef who is now learning the art of winemaking.
In 2013, Nick received the @goodfoodau Young Chef of the Year Award while working at the acclaimed Tetsuya`s Restaurant in Sydney. Nick then went on to work for hatted and Michelin star establishments in Australia and Europe throughout a 20-year culinary career.

To help reduce the damage of the recent -3 degrees temperatures, our @campbellswines vineyard team used overhead sprinklers and our new frost fan.
The overhead sprinklers work by the latent heat of fusion. When a liquid becomes a solid, a small amount of heat is released, protecting the very susceptible green shoots on our vines.
While the frost fan mixes the warmer air from above with the cooler air below the inversion layer.

Weekend plans? Enjoy an informal sojourn with a glass of wine and a vineyard platter at Campbells Wines 🍷🍷
Between the vines at @campbellswines is our crop cover. It is a mix of ryegrass, vetch, clover and tillage radish.
Our annual winter cover crop is sown in autumn. We allow our cover crop to grow all winter, then before any spring frost risk, it will be mulched down to provide nutrition for our vines.
Once we are past the spring frost risk, we allow the cover crop to grow freely creating biodiversity in the mid rows and habitat for beneficial insects.
