Hand Picked Shiraz 2024

Campbells Wines is proud to release its limited edition Hand Picked Shiraz 2024, a medium bodied wine with vibrant deep red and purple hues, which jumps out of the glass with its bright plummy fresh fruit, complexed with lightly charred oak. Jules Campbell, our Head
Winemaker, said this wine is a true reflection of the spirit at Campbells Wines.

“Our Hand Picked Shiraz 2024 combines the efforts of the whole Campbells team, who hand picked the Shiraz grapes early one morning in late February 2024 from our Bobbie Burns II vineyard,” said Jules.

“Whole bunches were hand picked and put directly into open fermentation vessels in the vineyard. Then covered with must (crushed grapes) from an earlier harvest. These vats were covered with dry ice (CO2) to prevent oxidation and left cold soaking for three days.

“The vessels were then hand plunged, twice daily for two weeks, and the temperature monitored. At the press stage, only the best free run juice was taken. Malolactic fermentation was initiated in the tank before the wine was finished in twoyear-old French puncheons and matured for ten months. Finally, the wine was blended with a little Bobbie Burns I vineyard Shiraz, which boasts our classic 60+ year old Shiraz vines,” Jules added.

Campbells Hand Picked Shiraz 2024 is a drink now wine or it can be cellared for up to 10 years.

“The lively red berry and plum fruit dances across your palate and the spicy oak background creates a smooth clean finish,” revealed Jules. Hand Picked Shiraz 2024 pairs perfectly with roast loin of venison with a Dijon mustard sauce, roast cauliflower and pickled plums.  Alternatively, it can be enjoyed with waxed aged cheddar, quince paste and Lavosh crackers.

“We are extremely proud to release the Hand Picked Shiraz 2024, every Campbells team member, who are like family to us, was involved in some way to bring this wine to you,”
Jules concluded.
