@campbellswines Urban Cellar Door Roadshow commenced on Friday night in Canberra at @themarion.au
Attendees enjoyed a tasting of Campbells wines, whilst overlooking the iconic Lake Burley Griffin.

Between the vines at @campbellswines is our crop cover. It is a mix of ryegrass, vetch, clover and tillage radish.
Our annual winter cover crop is sown in autumn. We allow our cover crop to grow all winter, then before any spring frost risk, it will be mulched down to provide nutrition for our vines.
Once we are past the spring frost risk, we allow the cover crop to grow freely creating biodiversity in the mid rows and habitat for beneficial insects.

Meet Charlene!
1. What is your job title? Customer Service Assistant
2. Please briefly describe your role? I work with the various sales departments to help deliver a positive customer service experience. This includes answering the phones, taking customer orders and responding to enquiries. I also help in Cellar Door on the occasional weekend and during events.
3. How long have you worked at @campbellswines? Close to 2.5 years
4. What do you love about your work? I really enjoy the diversity of the role, no two days are the same. Plus, I get to work with a fabulous team and chat with our valued Cellar Club members and customers … and what is not to love about working with such great wines!!!
5. Favourite Campbells wine and why? – In the warmer months I really enjoy the LR Chardonnay – delicious!! For winter, it is hard to go past the Bobbie Burns Shiraz – consistently good and never disappoints.
6. Hobby outside of work? I am one of those strange people who loves to swim early morning laps. Good food and good wine also make me happy.

At @campbellswines our solera barrels are one of our most photographed attractions, but what is a solera?
A solera is a fractional aging and blending process that we use for our fortified wines, using a tiered system of barrels where younger fortified wine is blended into the older to allow them to mingle and age together.
New product is added to Solera Stage four then over time is transferred through the different layers of the solera system. Once it reaches Solera Stage 1 it’s ready for bottling.
After each bottling amount is withdrawn, younger wines from the solera level above are used to top the lower barrels. Different proportions are taken out yearly for each classification solera - Rutherglen, Classic, Grand and Rare.
We also use a different set of barrels for the specific wine criteria for each classification solera - Rutherglen, Classic, Grand and Rare.

Meet Cara!
1. What is your job title?
My main role is Cellar Door, but I have worked in other departments too. Currently I am also working a couple of days in the lab.
2. Please briefly describe your role?
At Cellar Door I greet our guests and do my best to answer any questions or requests. I also help make wine suggestions and what pairs well with them. While in the lab, I’m learning techniques to sample and test our wines to help the winemakers make decisions.
3. How long have you worked at Campbells?
I have worked at @campbellswines since 2021. A friend, who was working in events area, asked if I would like to help over the very popular Easter Picnic Weekend and I’m still here!
4. What do you love about your work?
I love the variety of different departments and the jobs that take place during a week to achieve the final product. Seeing what goes on around the winery is also exciting. Everyone is also very supportive, fun and helpful to work with as well.
5. Favourite Campbells Wine and why?
I have quite a few favourites, currently I would say the Limited Release Chardonnay. For a special occasion the Barkly Durif 19 is delicious.
6. 6. Hobby outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy travelling, snow skiing, going on hikes/walks, gardening, cooking and catching up with friends!
